Parks Day in Jasper

Poster Distribution

Help us spread the word about the event by helping with poster distribution in town, at the campgrounds and at outlying accommodations. Posters will be available for pick-up on Tuesday (July 12) or Wednesday (July 13). You will be supplied with posters, location drop-off list, tape and tacks.

Table/Chair Pick Up and Drop Off: We’re looking for trucks and people to help us get a number of tables and chairs from the Jasper Activity Centre to the event site. We’ll be picking them up Friday, July 15th at 4pm and will be returning them Saturday afternoon (July 16th) between 4pm and 6pm. The more, the merrier J

Set-Up and Take-Down: Tent set-up can actually be a lot of fun when lots of people are involved! Your help is needed for a couple of hours and any help with this area would be appreciated. Please bring your friends along as we’ll need LOTS of help!

General Set Up: Saturday, July 16th from 8am to 10am

General Take Down: Saturday, July 16th from 4pm to 6pm

Registration & Information:

Help us spread the word about all the exciting Parks Day offers and activities! Three shifts are available: Friday, July 15th from 10am to 2pm and Saturday, July 16th from 9:30am to 1pm (includes setup) and 1pm to 5pm (includes tear down).

Hiking Guides

We’re looking for guides to lead at 12pm and a 1pm hike on Saturday, July 16th. You’ll need: a good knowledge of Jasper National Park, current first-aid certification and experience leading hiking groups. Location and theme are your choice.

Costume Station

We need a few enthusiastic volunteers to help with the costume station. This area is a lot of fun, especially when you dress up! Two shifts are available: Saturday, July 16th from 9:30am to 1pm (includes setup) and 1pm to 5pm (includes tear down).

 

Jasper The Bear Mascot:

Have you ever wanted to see what it’s like to dress up as one of Jasper’s mascots? Now is your chance! Want to bring a friend with you? A handler is needed as well to help you around. Saturday, July 16th from 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Children's Area

Kids love to celebrate at parties so we've included them in the fun. Games, crafts, cookie decorating, flower pot painting and children's activities will take place throughout the day. We need volunteers that love working with children to help out in this area. Two shifts are available: Saturday, July 16th from 9:30am to 1pm (includes setup) and 1pm to 5pm (includes tear down).

Volunteer Food Tent

Help us say thank you to our volunteers! Help in this area will include distribution of volunteer identifiers, discount vouchers, lunch and food pick up, food distribution and more. Three shifts are available: Saturday, July 16th at 7:30am (food pick-up), Saturday, July 16th from 9:30am to 1pm (includes setup) and 1pm to 5pm (includes tear down).

Event photography:

Get creative and help us capture this event in digital form for sharing in print, social media and Parks Day promotions! Two shifts are available: Saturday, July 16th from 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Barbecue

Do you like to grill? We need people to cook burgers and hotdogs on the grills and to help us sell them along the way. Two shifts are available: Saturday, July 16th from 9:30am to 1pm (includes setup) and 1pm to 5pm (includes tear down).

Barbecue clean and drop-off:

After a day of grilling, we are looking for someone (or a group of people) to help clean and drop-off the barbeque on Saturday, July 16th at 4pm.
