Spring Volunteering Opportunities at Waterton Lakes National Park

Volunteer for one of Waterton Lakes National Park's scheduled activities this spring. Come as a party of one or bring family and friends. These events focus on citizen science, and habitat and endangered species restoration.

New opportunities

  • Volunteer-day assistant host - One or more Saturdays: May 3, June 21, July 19 and September 6.
  • Bird count compiler - June 15-22 and December 30 - January 7, 2026; self-scheduled.

Upcoming opportunities

  • Spring shoreline Cleanup – Saturday, May 3
  • Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Ambassador - Training May 12 and May 30
  • Busy beaver cleanup crew - Volunteer by May 19. Self-scheduled, June through September.
  • Visitor centre interpretive grounds - Orientation mid-May to mid-June. Self-scheduled thereafter.
  • Tree transplanting (for groups) - May weekdays
  • Spring flower count – Saturday morning, May 31 (rest of weekend is optional)
  • Spring bird count - Saturday, June 7 and/or Sunday, June 8
  • Adopt-a-Patch Kickoff – Saturday, June 21
  • Adopt-a-Patch - mid-June to mid-August
