Bat Talk and Walk
Little Brown Bat by Cory Olson
The Friends of Elk Island Society will be hosting Cory Olson, program coordinator with the Wildlife Conservation Society of Canada’s Alberta Bat Program, for a talk about bats followed by an evening walk in the park to look (and listen, using a bat detector) for bats.
Meet at the Astotin Lake main visitor parking lot on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 8:15 PM, and will be done by 10:30 PM, at the latest.
Cory will start with a talk about bats in Alberta, show you how to use a bat detector (there will be several detectors, so you will get a chance to try one out), and then you will spend some time looking for bats.
Note that there is no charge for this event, but it is open only to members of the Friends of Elk Island Society.
