Volunteer at Fish Release Event

Join Nature Alberta for an exciting evening surrounded by fish and conservation efforts!

Date: Monday, June 10

Time: 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: Hermitage Park Boat Launch, 620 Hermitage Park Rd NW, Edmonton

Volunteer Duties

Registration Volunteer:

5:15pm to 7pm

Direct families to the sign in process, track the total number of participants, and organize families into groups if necessary
Hand out Nature Kids stickers, and other free giveaways
Answer general questions and promote Nature Alberta's upcoming events and Family Nature Nights.

After registration is complete, you may join as a Roving Volunteer, if desired.

Group Leader/Roving Volunteer:

5:15pm to 9pm

Welcome participants joining your group from the registration process, asking questions about nature and playing simple engaging games such as Simon Says or Eye Spy (with nature theme); lead group to activity stations when directed by Nature Alberta staff.
Depending on level of attendance, this may change to a Roving Volunteer role whereby you roam throughout the event, offering assistance to families and education station volunteers as required. This could include picking up litter, getting extra supplies for an education station, or pointing a family to the direction of onsite facilities.

Photographer Volunteer:

6:30pm to 8:30pm

Take photographs of the event activities without getting recognizable faces in the final photos
Edit and transfer photos to Nature Alberta staff after the completion of the event using a Google Drive folder
