Mill Creek Thistle Patrol

7-8 p.m. Tuesday Evenings July-Sept

Pull thistles to save wildflowers. Canada thistle is a noxious weed in Alberta. It's extensive root system enables it to outcompete native species, reducing biodiversity. You can help improve ecosystem health by joining the Thistle Patrol!

The Thistle Patrol removes patches of creeping (Canada) thistle, growing in and around Mill Creek Ravine in Edmonton. The group meets weekly at 7 p.m. for an hour on Tuesday evenings from July to September. Ed Retzer, the leader, has been participating in the Thistle Patrol for years and has managed to greatly reduce the number of thistles. Join us by emailing enpsvolunteer@gmail.com and we will send you the specific location for each week.
