The Waskasoo Environmental Education Society (WEES) is a not-for-profit society,  operates the Kerry Wood Nature Centre (KWNC) and Historic Fort Normandeau (the Fort), and is responsible for natural and cultural history interpretation throughout Red Deer's Waskasoo Park system.

Join Kerry Wood Nature Centre on Thursday, February 29, to discover the springier side of nature through games, activities, and crafts.
This free event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Everyone is welcome, so hop on by for a visit!


Spring is just around the corner, and so is another soapmaking class!
Come and learn how to make soap using the cold process method.

The Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary is celebrating 100 years of being a protected migratory bird sanctuary!
As part of our birthday celebrations, we are reaching out to all members of the public to tell us their stories about this amazing piece of protected land. Photos are also appreciated.
