Summary: The Alberta Lake Management Society (ALMS) is seeking outgoing individuals
with biology, environmental science or public health backgrounds for our Recreational
Water Technician position. The position is best suited for new or recent graduates from
a Bachelor of Science with a focus on environmental science and/or public health. The
work term will run for 5 months (May to October). The successful candidate will support
the coordination of recreational water quality monitoring activities under the Alberta
Safe Beach Protocol at priority locations throughout Alberta. The position will have a
blend of office work and fieldwork, and though based in Edmonton, will involve
considerable driving throughout the province. One of the successful candidates may also
support the delivery an additional research project related to satellite derived algal
monitoring.
