Ellis Bird Farm is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, education & sustainable agriculture, promoting environmental education and wildlife conservation, overseeing an extensive Mountain Bluebird, Tree Swallow, and Purple Martin monitoring program.


OWLS OF ALBERTA PRESENTATION

Join Ellis Bird Farm as we host Beaverhills Bird Observatory on our site Saturday, March 23 from 1-2:30pm or 3-4:30pm! They will give a brief presentation of Beaverhills history, what they do, and owls in Alberta. They’ll also be bringing their educational Burrowing Owl Nina who will interact with attendees. This event is pre-registration only, and spots are limited!


PURPLE MARTIN WORKSHOP

Join our resident purple martin expert John for an afternoon of learning all about these spectacular birds! John will speak about purple martins, how to establish a colony, and how to maintain purple martin demos. If you've been dreaming of starting your own purple martin colony, this workshop is the perfect way to start! It will run Saturday, April 13 from 1-3pm and is only $10 per person.


EARTH DAY MANDALA ART WORKSHOP

Join local artist Sally Towers-Sybblis for an Earth Day themed mandala workshop! She will guide participants through the creation of their own mandala art, with the possibility to make two mandalas if time allows. This session runs on Saturday, April 20 from 10am-4pm. There will be time for lunch, so please make sure you bring one with you! The cost of this session is $65 per person, plus a $15 materials fee for a total of $80 per person. Only 15 spots are available so don't wait to register!


MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD WORKSHOP

Our site manager Carolyn and biologist Natalia are excited to bring this workshop, where they'll discuss all things Mountain Bluebird! This workshop will feature information about bluebirds, how to start your own nestbox trail, maintaining a nestbox trail, monitoring nestboxes, and completing nest checks. If you've been wanting to start your own bluebird trail, then this is certainly the workshop for you. It will run Saturday, April 27 from 1-3pm and is only $10 per person.
