Resource Development Coordinator

The City of Lethbridge, Recreation and Culture Department is currently inviting applications for one (1) Resource Development Coordinator for the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. This is an exciting, fast-paced role that supports all aspects of the Nature Centre’s operations, including coordinating the Nature Centre’s volunteer program and conservation projects; fundraising and friend-raising activities; and communication and outreach activities. Hours: Evening and weekend work is required. 80 hours bi-weekly.

Wage: $37.10 hour

Duties:
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Manager. This position provides leadership in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating of the Nature Centre’s volunteer program including conservation projects, fund development initiatives, communications and outreach, and community partnerships. This specialized role requires a dedicated, caring, motivated, customer-focused, and detail-oriented natural leader who can work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.

Your Skill Set and Experience:
Minimum post-secondary diploma or degree combined with a minimum 4 years of related experience in positions that require coordinating and leading collaborative working groups; coordinating events; communications; ‘friend-raising’, fundraising and donor stewardship; as well as working with volunteers. Volunteer experience is required, with additional experience serving on not-for-profit Board of Directors considered an asset. Excellent writing and presentation skills are required, as are excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate must possess a strong environmental ethic and some knowledge of local natural history. Candidates must be able to perform physical labour and be able to work in all weather conditions. Experience developing marketing and promotional materials; updating and maintaining CRMs and websites; and experience utilizing social media in a work environment would be considered an asset. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.

Special Requirement:
Candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check prior to employment. Defensive Driving Certificate and First Aid Certification will be required as a condition of employment.
