Snow Goose Festival Volunteers Needed

Thanks to great enthusiasm from Nature Alberta’s Volunteer Team these positions are FULL! Thank you to all who are volunteering.

Nature Experts and Bird Experts are welcome to volunteer as Tour Bus Guides for the buses leaving from Edmonton to Tofield to attend the Snow Goose Festival.  Make a difference on Earth Day by volunteering to interpret nature for newcomers to Canada and at-risk youth who will be joining this tour for free thanks to the Town of Tofield. We also need volunteers as Tour Bus Assistants to help with logistics during the tours.

Dates: Saturday, April 22 & Sunday, April 23

Estimated schedule:

Leave Edmonton 10:00 AM
Arrive at Strathcona Wilderness Center (1 hr) 10:30 AM
Leave Strathcona Wilderness Center 11:30 AM
Arrive at Toeifled Arena (1 hr) 12:00 PM
Snow Goose Chase (2 hr) 1:00 PM
Stop at Arena (1/2 hr) 3:00 PM
Leave Tofield 3:30 PM
Arrive at Edmonton 4:30 PM

These timings may vary up to 1.5 hours depending on the departing time (9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM) & departing location.

Tour Bus Guides and Tour Bus Assistants will receive training via a Zoom meeting the week prior and will receive a volunteer training guide to help prepare for the event.
Volunteer training sessions are on:
          – Monday, April 17 at 7:00 PM
          – Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00 PM
