Why do geese poop so much?

Geese certainly do poop a lot — in fact, they can poop up to 15 times per hour! They poop the most when they are eating roots and rhizomes (underground stems) from plants in the mud. The roots and rhizomes are high in fibre, helping the food pass through the goose’s digestive system in as little as one hour!
