Peace River Christmas Bird Count Volunteers

Dec 17, 2022

The Peace River Christmas Bird Count still needs volunteers!

There are three routes still needing volunteers to help count birds. They are Town West, Shaftesbury Trail, and Greene Valley (see below for map of routes). Shaftesbury Trail and Greene Valley can be completed entirely from the comfort of a vehicle. Town West would require a bit of walking but most of it can be done by car as well.

Come help collect vital data for scientists about birds and their populations. One of the longest citizen science projects in North America, the Christmas Bird Count has been going on for over 120 years! This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about winter birds in your area, connect with fellow nature lovers, and enjoy the outdoors. There's also the optional coffee meet-up for volunteers on the morning of the count at J's Java Domain. Yum!
