Open Weaselhead Weeding Workshops

Weaselhead Natural Area Parking: 6634 37 Street Southwest Calgary, AB T3E 5M9

The invasive plant project at the Weaselhead Natural Area Park, works to reduce the abundance of invasive plants and protect biodiversity. Sign up to join in the park, guided by a naturalist to dig up invasive plants. You will learn about the ecology and reasoning behind invasive plant management programs as well as have a chance to sharpen and practice your plant ID skills.

What you will be doing:

You will be walking into the park, heading off the trail, and then digging up these woody shrubs. We will meet at the grey shed at the corner of the Weaselhead parking lot. We have all the tools and safety equipment needed for the event. This includes safety goggles, work gloves, shovels, and shears. Naturalists will carry first aid kits and bear spray on their persons.
