Christmas Bird Count For Kids Edmonton Volunteers

Come help inspire a love of nature in the next generation!

Join us for the Christmas Bird Count for Kids in Edmonton on Dec 18th at Gold Bar Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect families with nature and participate in some incredible citizen science! We'll also have a presentation from the Beaver Hill Bird Observatory featuring a live American Kestrel that families and volunteers will get to meet.

 

Shifts are available from

  • 12:30 pm - 2:45 pm
  • 1:45 pm - 4:00 pm
  • Or the whole day (12:30 pm - 4:00 pm) 

 

Duties include:

  • Assisting with event set up and take down
  • Lead families along trails searching for birds
  • Helping identify birds as you're able

 

All levels of birding knowledge are welcome. Previous experience with bird watching is welcome but not required. It's a great chance to build your skills as well!

Please dress for the weather. We will be outside for most of the time walking along the trails, so warm clothes are a must. You're also welcome to bring any binoculars or guidebooks you'd like. Water bottles are great too.
